Cheese, along with wine, is a huge part of our lives. We find ourselves during the week trying not to add cheese into our meals to ensure we can thoroughly enjoy our cheese and charcuterie plate on Friday night. We can consume an alarming amount of cheese! (*winky face) In the video below and through our YouTube Channel you can watch this week’s cheese plate to enjoy with friends.
After we stopped recording the video… Brian and I talked more, danced in the kitchen and waited for our friends to arrive. Ok, ok.. we did get a head start on the bottle of wine too, but don’t worry we had back up. We talked about how each week’s cheese plate, we create something new and different. Last week we used all the tomatoes from our garden on top of fresh arugula and every herb we could find to create a bed for our Burrata. Sage Derby… shut the front door. Honeycomb, jelly or mustard! Nuts, even. Drunken goat cheese… this is why we live. Although dramatic, you can see how these cheeses… how these farmers spend time cultivating a product that is perfect. Perfect is, of course, in the eye of the beholder.. but a glass of Merlot would agree. Or, maybe an oaky Chardonnay. I think that is why we enjoy it so much. It’s up to you. You are the artist. You are the creator of your evening, meal, dinner party, event or pairing… how the flavors mesh and mold into one in your mouth. That mouth watering combination of creamy and nutty cheese with the fruit forward Pinot Noir for example. What is not to like?
